It is very important and it is the best advise to any person wants to start kitesurfing is to start by taking lessons with certified instructor. Currently there are two main bodies that certify instructors; the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO), and the Verband Deutscher Windsurfing und Wassersportschulen (VDWS), or Association of German windsurfing and watersport schools.

Schools in Kuwait

Since the start of summer 2020, there have been number of kitesurfing instructors giving lessons in Kuwait. The IKO certified instructor Yaqoub Alnasrallah from Kiteboarding Kuwait School, started giving lesson in Subiya in June 2020 and number of students already started riding upwind. Another IKO certified instructor is Abdulaziz Albanna, also gave lessons during the summer for new riders but he is still not officially running a kite school yet. Meanwhile, Salty Sports has been on hault since last October, and they have been in the process of changing location before the outbreak of the pandemic. Salty Sports is another IKO certified school, and they are expected to relaunch as soon as they find new location for the school.
